First Thursday: Shape the Neighborhood

Meetings are the 1st Thursday of every month, at the Oak Park Community Center, 3425 Martin Luther King Blvd. (at 8th Avenue).

OPNA feels that it is very important to brand its evening monthly open meetings with the community to make it easy to remember when to participate: Cops and Coffee and OPNA are back to back.

This night's meeting is your chance to shape the neighborhood. Although we provide the opportunity through Cops & Coffee to register personal complaints about negative activities in the neighborhood or on your block, OPNA also wants you to participate in making positive change.

Part of OPNA's meeting becomes a working space to meet a handful of neighbors from your segment of the neighborhood and to collaborate on problem-solving and/or community pride activities. OPNA is run by an all-volunteer, primarily elected Board. Therefore, Oak Park and its 20,000 residents and multitude of schools, nonprofits, and businesses require the active hands and voices of as many neighbors as possible to execute the workload. Come volunteer!
